Welcome to BirthSafe™
A space for those navigating birth, systems, and sovereignty.
I’m Cheyne Maree, a birthkeeper, educator, and researcher. I hold space for birthing people to be seen, supported, and safe - emotionally, physically, and politically.
Through grounded care and informed advocacy, I walk with you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Because your birth story matters.
And how you are treated matters even more.

Safer Births Start with Knowledge
Core Values
Trauma-Informed Practice
Recognising that every birthing journey is unique, I prioritise creating a safe and supportive environment. By understanding the impact of past experiences, I aim to provide care that acknowledges and respects your individual history, ensuring that your needs and boundaries are honoured throughout the birthing process.
Inclusive, Evidence-Based Support
Grounded in the latest research and clinical insights, my approach combines academic knowledge with holistic understanding. I am committed to offering care that is not only scientifically sound but also culturally sensitive and inclusive, embracing the diverse backgrounds and identities of all birthing individuals.
Deep Listening and Reverence for the Process
I believe that birth is a sacred journey. By practicing deep listening, I strive to truly hear and understand your desires, fears, and expectations. This attentiveness allows me to support you in a manner that respects the profound nature of childbirth, honouring it as a transformative rite of passage.
Racism-Informed Knowledge & Practice
Acknowledging the systemic disparities in maternity care, my work is rooted in addressing racial biases, advocating for equity in birth support, and ensuring inclusive, culturally competent care for all individuals.
LGBTQI-Inclusive Support & Advocacy
My research and all content within this platform is committed to creating a safe and affirming space for LGBTQI+ individuals. This includes using gender-inclusive language, understanding diverse family structures, and ensuring that all birthing people receive respectful, knowledgeable, and individualised care.
